ACORN USER AGREEMENT
The Registered User, in consideration for the use of the network (ACORN) managed by the
Akron-Summit County Public Library, acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- The use of ACORN is a privilege which may be revoked by the Akron-Summit
County Public Library at any time and for any reason, including abusive conduct.
Examples of abusive conduct include the placing of unlawful information on the
network and the use of obscene, abusive, or otherwise objectionable language in
either public postings or private messages. The Akron-Summit County Public
Library shall be the final arbiter of what constitutes abusive conduct.
- The Akron-Summit County Public Library reserves the right to review any material
stored in files to which ACORN users have access and to edit or remove any
material which the Library, in its sole discretion, believes may be unlawful,
obscene, abusive or otherwise objectionable.
- All information services and features contained in ACORN are intended for the
private use of its registered users. Any unauthorized reproduction and re-selling
of those materials, in any form, is expressly forbidden.
- The Akron-Summit County Public Library does not warrant that the functions of
ACORN will meet any specific user requirements, or that it will be error free or
uninterrupted. The Library shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental,
or consequential damages (including lost data, information, or profits) sustained or
incurred in connection with the use, operation, or inability to use the network.
- The User will abide by the ACORN Acceptable Use Policy and such other rules and
regulations of the network as may be announced from time to time by ACORN.
- This account is to be used only by the registered user. Any other use renders the
account subject to termination.
- The information provided in ACORN is offered as a community service and is not
intended to be and is not a substitute for individual, professional consultation.
Adequate professional guidance for making important personal or business
decisions cannot be provided through an electronic format of this type.
